Is there any legal issue with those icons?

Apologies for the slow reply - I never thought to check this page for comments!
I didn't take any "official" graphics from the commercial web sites; everything's either drawn myself (eg the Sun logo) or from Wikipedia. IIRC I took the FreeBSD logo from their EPS files.
So, I don't think there's any legal issues with them. But IANAL.

For personal use, I'm sure they're fine. But I wouldn't recommend using these commercially unless you have permission from the individual companies.

As long as you don't pass yourself off as these companies and include a comment "all trademarks acknowledged" you ought to be fine. That's the whole point of a logo, to represent a visual shortcut to the organisation..
